PHILMORE & CO Vs. SIMPSON WOOD CRICKET MATCH 2016

PHILMORE & CO CRICKET CLUB NEARLY TRIUMPH AGAIN!

A sunny evening at Upperthong CC on 24 May 2016 saw the Philmore & Co cricket team go head to head with Simpson Wood in the 2^nd T20 bash for the SWAPIT Trophy.

A packed crowd of 18 spectators witnessed Simpson Wood bat first in perfect batting conditions, amassing 140 despite some brilliant bowling displays from Cunning Coombes, Ed of the Ford and Swifty Sutcliffe.  

Following a short wine break at half time, Philmore & Co took to the willow making 96 in reply as conditions and the light deteriorated dramatically. 

A good time was had by all particularly as everyone moved on to have delicious pie & peas at the Ford Inn to witness the presentation of the SWAPIT Trophy (again!)
